about the founder Anita Pisch

Anita Pisch

I first became interested in art books and zines when, mid-life and mid-career (no crisis, though), I suddenly decided to go to art school. Printmaking, relief prints, became my thing – especially the whole principle of democratic multiples. When I found my first zine, tucked surreptitiously into a library book, I was hooked. With a background in art practice, art history, literature and theatre, I enjoy cutting and pasting words and images, creating beautiful montages of layered feeling and meaning. With properganderpress, I wanted to make a place in this world where all these loved and sweated creations, both mine and those of others, could get a little airing amongst sympathetic friends.
